GOTHAM – The Only Thing On My Mind

As always, the best television shows come out during the fall season. That’s when you got shows like Revenge and Pretty Little Liars, when shows like Supernatural come back with new seasons, etc. Personally, I always look forward to Once Upon A Time starting up again, as well as Doctor Who (although I end up being about a season behind with Doctor Who because I don’t have BBC or BBC America). While I am still excited for many of those shows to come back, including Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Sleepy Hollow, there is one show that has been on my mind nearly nonstop.

GOTHAM.

Holy origin story, Batman! “Gotham” looks to be exactly what many of us DC fans have been waiting for. Yeah, yeah, the origin story of Batzy’s been told a million times over in comic books, film, and television, but this show seems to be taking it on in a whole different way- including telling the origin stories of many villains that we don’t often get to see (like Penguin and Riddler). First of all, it focuses on James Gordon, not necessarily Batman because it takes place when Bruce is just a kid. However, I have a feeling that some time-jumps will eventually take place. Maybe not in the first season, but eventually. With the show being about B-Man, he’s bound to show up.

There’s been chatter in the fan community about whether or not Gotham will take place at the same time as the Arrow and Flash television series, but I don’t think that’s going to happen because Bruce Wayne, Barry Allen, and Oliver Queen are roughly the same age, so having kid!Bruce wouldn’t make sense with fully grown Oliver and Barry Allen. But, DC has made strange leaps that no one has understood (or liked) in the past. That’s what ret-conning is for, I guess?

There’s also the JLA movie in the making, and many people hope for the Gotham cast (as well as the Arrow and Flash casts) to be a part of it. However, with Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck already worked out as the film Superman and Batman respectively, this probably isn’t going to happen. Still, it’s fun to dream, right?

What super awesome television series are you looking most forward to in the fall??? Comment and tell me!
